Doctor Mingyang Li has been learning Tai Chi Chuan from his grandfather since his childhood. He became the president of Tai Chi Chuan Association in Tsinghua University, Beijing in 1980s.
As teaching in Tsinghua University, he learned Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan and sword from Master Zhou, Pei-Fang who was the daughter of Master Zhou, Yuan-Long who, in turn, was one of the disciple of the Grand Master Yang, Cheng-Fu.
He came to the U.S. in 1985 as a physicist to join the Superconducting Super Collider National Laboratory in Dallas, Texas, and got the Ph. D. degree in 1990. Then he transferred to Silicon Valley and became an engineer in semiconductor industry since 1994.
He established Hong Yang Tai Chi and Health Association in San Francisco Bay Area in 2006, and became a National Martial Arts Judge in the U.S. in 2010.
He started to teach Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan 103 form in San Francisco Bay Area since 2012, and became the director of Yang Family Tai Chi School in San Jose, California since July, 2016.
